Marari beach is a place to unwind and relax, go on a long beach walk with umbrellas (you can rent it there). However, women won’t feel comfortable wearing bikinis when locals are around. Though not a popular tourist place, Marari has a number of attractions around for day trips. You can book a private cab and visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and the Kerala backwater canals. Want to connect with nature? Try cycling around the village area. If you plan a trip in the month of August, you can also enjoy a snake boat race.
No swimming at the beach
Unfortunately, the bacterial content of the sea water is high as the locals (especially fishermen) defecate on the beach. You might find the water clean but remember, sometimes visions are deceptive.
